Meet Our
Team
Allen & Angie Propst
Allen visited Pamlico County in 1973
during his junior year in college and decided then that he would
eventually live here. He became a permanent resident four years later
and, in 1987, he and Angie opened Mariner Realty.
Allen is a consistent Million Dollar
Producer, a Graduate of the Realtor Institute (GRI) and member of the
Oriental Rotary Club. Besides running a successful real estate business,
he is recognized locally as an avid hunter and leading authority on land
development of North Carolina coastal real estate. His sales team and
clients get the benefit of his valuable hands-on experience and solid
knowledge of processes and issues related to land-use.
In addition to being a regular
participant in many community events and fund-raisers, Angie is actively
involved in the Arapahoe Charter School and Oriental Republican Women’s
Club. She is a volunteer at the Pamlico County Civic & Cultural Center
(where she has organized Children’s Theater programs), a past member of
the Pamlico County Planning Board and coaches girl’s basketball and
softball teams.
Living in Oriental is not all
work! The Propst family spends much of their recreational time on the
water where you may find them raising a sail, catching fish or simply
paddling around in kayaks. While on the water, the family is reminded
why Oriental is the place they choose to live. “There is something for
everyone here and the quality of life is without compare.”

Charlie Carpenter
Charlie retired to Oriental in 1985 after
a 31-year career in education. He and his wife, Millie, hailed from Long
Island, NY where he was very active in sailboat racing and cruising.
After three years in retirement, Charlie
began his second career as a sales associate with Mariner Realty. “I
enjoy meeting new people from all walks of life and geographical areas,
and love helping them to achieve their dream of owning North Carolina
coastal real estate.”
Charlie is a Million Dollar Producer,
fund-raising chairman for the Pamlico County Civic & Cultural Center,
past president of the Oriental Rotary Club and has held offices in the
Sailing Club of Oriental. He is still an active sailor, skippering an
Ensign in local races.

Pat Elliott
Pat is a native of Washington, DC. She
originally came to Oriental to learn sailing and then found herself
racing on the local circuit. “Being a novice, my position was on the
rail or stuffing a spinnaker. But I met some great people here and had a
fabulous time!”
After graduating from Eastern Carolina
University, Pat spent 22 years in mortgage banking management. In
addition to being a full-time Broker and Accredited Buyer Representative
(ABR), she is a Million Dollar Producer, an active member of the Pamlico
County Board of Realtors and Pamlico County Chamber of Commerce.
She and her husband, Craig (USN/Ret.),
spend their spare time boating and traveling. “Oriental holds a certain
magical charm for me. If you’re shopping for North Carolina waterfront
properties and love a small village atmosphere, you have reached your
home port.”

Judi Heit
Judi and her husband, Ralf, were drawn to
Pamlico County by their love of boating and dream of living in a warmer
climate. When corporate downsizing resulted in her job being eliminated,
they decided to head south to their lot on Brown Creek. The following
year was spent designing and building their home, which Judi contracted.
25 years of experience in communications,
project management and customer service made her a natural candidate for
the real estate profession and it wasn’t long before a friend in the
business persuaded her to give it a try. Since then, she’s become a
full-time Broker, earned the prestigious GRI and ABR designations,
consistently achieved the status of Million Dollar Producer and served
as President and on various committees of the Pamlico County Board of
Realtors.
In her “spare” time she volunteers at the
Pamlico County Civic & Cultural Center (where she has participated in a
number of productions) is Stage Director for the Pamlico Chorale and is
her family’s genealogist and editor or their web site. “We both enjoy
refurbishing older boats and have brought a number of sail and power
crafts back to life. But my favorite activity is helping buyers find
their ideal waterfront property. North Carolina can’t be beat for its
beautiful waterways!”

Ginger Howe
Ginger and her husband, Weldon, had been
coming to Pamlico County for years to bring their children to Camp
Seagull and Camp Seafarer for summer camp. So they were thrilled when
his job transferred them from Indianapolis to Raleigh, NC.
When it came time to retire, Oriental
proved to be the perfect place to pursue their dream of cruising off the
east coast. After years devoted to work in local civic organizations,
Ginger decided to pursue a career in real estate and joined Mariner
Realty as a sales associate. Since then she has achieved Million Dollar
Producer status, earned the prestigious GRI designation and serves as
Treasurer on the Pamlico County Board of Realtors.
Ginger still finds time or civic
activities, from bridge clubs to singing with the Pamlico Chorale and
seems to know everybody in Oriental. “I enjoy making new friends and
look forward to introducing visitors to our lovely community and the
gracious lifestyle we enjoy here.”

Judy Marco
Judy moved to Oriental in 1993 to get
closer to the water. “I have not been disappointed … sitting on the dock
enjoying the creek, chirping birds, jumping fish and friendly waves from
passing boaters. All while enjoying a great sense of community!”
She began her real estate career and
earned the prestigious GRI designation while living in Chapel Hill (home
of her son, J.R., and the NC Tar Heels). After moving to Oriental, she
became a sales associate with Weyerhaeuser Real Estate Company and went
on to earn her Broker’s license.
Judy is an active member of the Pamlico
County Board of Realtors, sings (beautifully) in her church choir and
the Pamlico Chorale, has performed in a number of plays staged by the
Pelican Players and served a term as an Oriental Town Commissioner.
“I enjoy showing folks ‘my little corner
of the world’ and sharing with them the wonderful lifestyle we enjoy in
Pamlico County.”
